Folklore 102: Sky, Merchant of Endless Paths

Sky had been a general whose victories made obedience seem permanent. Defeat stripped him of command and taught him that influence could survive without an army.

He crossed from mercenary work into trade and rebuilt Solarian routes with coin, favors, and information. His unseen listeners reached across all Five, and few requests were too obscure if the price or purpose interested him.

Sky was generous often enough to be trusted and calculating often enough to make that trust dangerous. Some believed he restored the roads from goodwill. Others believed every road was part of a map only he could see.
