Folklore 110: Lanius, the Caravan Guard

Lanius learned ruthlessness in a mercenary cohort and bargaining beside Solarian merchants. He guarded caravans, enforced agreements, and understood that a road’s safety was part steel and part reputation.

When the Sundering broke the old routes, he led the surviving cohort out of the Wilderness and into Solaris. There he sought to rebuild the trade network that had once given his sword a direction.

Lanius did not pretend commerce was peaceful. He knew every full wagon drew need, envy, and violence. His work was to ensure it still arrived.
