Momo had marched in a glorious army before the world ended. Under Solaris’ heat, the dead became indistinguishable from the sand.

He offered his sword to the sun and refused the life of a warrior. What came after was deliberately unwritten. The blank space was not forgetfulness, but a choice: his next identity would be lived rather than inherited from war.

Old storytellers used Momo’s fragment when speaking to soldiers who believed a weapon was the only proof they had existed.
