Folklore 119: Matthias, the Cursed Scholar
Veythar marked Matthias at birth with fragments of forgotten history. He knew dead tongues and vanished wars, yet records crumbled beneath his touch.
He dreamed of raising Skyfall among Mount Hua’s islands. Libraries collapsed, disciples fled, and hope survived every failure. During the fourth rebuilding, a cursed wind cast him into the sea.
Matthias washed ashore without memory beyond his name. With nothing remembered, the curse had nothing to consume. He wandered into Nibiru free, searching for people who might restore the person he had been, unaware that remembering could also restore what hunted him.
