Folklore 121: Apo, the Stationary Nomad
Apo misunderstood Solarian nomads as old men who farmed scraps, hauled water, and lived alone. He built a crooked shack, planted what would grow, named his goats a caravan, and declared the work complete.
He spoke seriously to wind, stone, and stewpot. He worried that crooked fences might make the stars fall. For all his talk of wandering, he rarely left his chosen patch of sand.
What Apo wanted was simpler than the title he adopted: a steady home, a warm meal, and companions who did not mind the crooked path of his thoughts.
