Folklore 127: Elder Panryeol
Elder Panryeol found a quiet floating island above Mount Hua’s mist and founded the Chiseled Archive there.
He shaped stone halls, tended a small farm, and recorded histories with the same patience. Panryeol did not seek followers. He listened before speaking, offered guidance without demanding obedience, and valued sincerity above display.
His days followed cultivation, writing, and reflection. His maxim survived the Archive itself: Tend what you can. The rest tends us back.
Some modern archivists believe the sealed-scroll tradition began in his halls. No surviving page proves it, which would have amused him.
