Folklore 137: The Bannerwright
The Bannerwright helped Toph imagine itself before its city existed.
Surviving fragments discuss plains, shields, colors, mountains, public symbols, and the danger of resembling Solaris too closely. The work was patient, practical, and collaborative. A banner was treated not as decoration but as a decision about what strangers would understand at a distance.
The maker’s roleplay name is lost. Toph’s visual memory remains.
