Folklore 006: The Totems of Toph

The quarrel began with missing totems and grew through accusation, pride, and the speed at which anger travels between territories.

Hollgrot of Nibiru was named as the taker. Toph demanded return and restitution. Voices called for retaliation; others urged restraint, fearing a small theft could become the first war of the new settlements. In the end, the totems returned with payment in diamond blocks, armor, and public concession.

No song agrees whether justice or exhaustion ended the dispute. Toph declared that it would answer attacks without becoming the aggressor. Nibiru carried the shame of one citizen’s act without allowing it to define every citizen.

The affair became the first proof that property, pride, and rumor could cross borders faster than diplomacy. It also proved that restitution could end a conflict before graves did.
