Folklore 011: Graves at the Heart

The chronicles and folklore of Elarion

Folklore 011: Graves at the Heart

When the first chapter neared its end, the settlers returned to Harmonium and built graves.

They were not all graves for bodies. Some marked unfinished towers, abandoned roads, vanished friends, failed treaties, lost time, and the version of Elarion that could not continue. The final collective work was therefore not a palace or gate, but a place to acknowledge what would be left behind.

The surviving notice declared the chapter concluded and the world archived. Then the voices ceased.

Centuries later, fragments of those graves still appear beneath roots and collapsed masonry. Their inscriptions are often unreadable. Their arrangement is not. The old settlers placed their dead memories together at the center, as if trusting that whoever came next would understand mourning before history.
