Folklore 012: The Green Silence
No record describes the moment the old settlements emptied. The histories simply stop.
In the silence that followed, forests crossed roads, roots opened council floors, rivers claimed workshops, and moss softened names carved into stone. Some towers fell. Some endured as hollow landmarks. Harmonium disappeared beneath growth and ruin until later peoples found its center and named it Worldheart.
The present age is called The Verdant Reawakening. Its people inherit a beautiful world in which nature has already conquered most evidence of the civilization before them. They do not rebuild the old world exactly. They recover what deserves remembrance and leave the rest to leaf, rain, and time.
Every returned scroll shortens the Green Silence by one voice.
